That's cool that CakePHP is doing it for you. I've not heard many complaints about it. But like a lot of other people, it really hasn't sped up my development personally, but then again, maybe I'm just really quick? heh. Nice site.

I would have to agree. I decided to dive into CakePHP - and a month later I have used it for several sites and continue to love it. Even working with 1.2 alpha release, it is an incredible PHP framework.

I would agree with the RoR statements. I am more versed in PHP, and therefore it is much easier for me deploy an application with CakePHP than it is RoR. Both are incredible frameworks, I just stick with what works best.

As a side note, I really appreciate the snippets you made available in the Bakery - nice work!

Productivity versus RoR: it depends on the programmer. If you are more experienced with PHP and a noob with RoR then definitely. But the best way to choose is to give both a try.

About the size of the project: CakePHP is one of the most scalable frameworks I've seen. If there's anything to be done with PHP, then CakePHP will make it easier.

Is it more productive than ruby on rails ??

If you are a PHP programmer, and you are looking forward to spend more time with your family, do that thing you call a hobby, or just relax, look no further.

Wow when does this happen? I have been working on CakePHP for the last 2 years and have not seen my free time increase at all.

If anything it has all but disappeared.

Let me rephrase that last line, my free time is gone!!!

Anyway Mariano, glad you enjoy CakePHP so much, and your gear looks great
